Site blocked? Try this (not a proxy)

Some sites allow you to add a 's' after http, and it will get past the blocking system that schools/work has.

For example, http://gmail.com is blocked (at my school at least), if you go https://gmail.com it is no longer blocked (at my school).

Try it, some sites dont work with https though. (this also works on some proxies ;))

Most (advanced) filtering systems would still block the address because it contains "Gmail", which would normally be placed on a forbidden list.

Doesn't work at my school. My school's filter is VERY hard to bypass.

1. Open up Internet Explorer and go to View --> Source
2. Remove all text in the notepad and type in "command.com"
3. Save as a .bat file.
4. Open the .bat file, and type in "ping sitename.com" (without quotes)
5. Take the IP Address shown, and type it in manually.

Even like that, it's not flawless.

You're lucky you can even run .bat files... At my school last year you couldn't do anything. You can only right click in certain programs.

That would only work if the site is hosted on a dedicated IP.

Try Google Translator..

Use the translator to translate your site from spanish to english. Even if it is in English it will still load up the same page. But the images may still be blocked..

I've tried so many different ways to get around the system but if i find successful way they block it. I've tried pinging the domain to get the ip. Worked for a short while. Tried Proxy's but other people started to know what they were and they got blocked.

Also if your school blocks you from searching for special keywords eg: "Proxy" I get around it by going into the Google preferences and displaying "100 results" per page. I then spell Proxy wrong in the most bizzare way that Google only just manages to guess it. I then click the "Did You Mean Proxy?" and it loads. I can then search through all the results to find a working proxy.

But as you know. That didn't last too long... If i get anymore ways to get around it i'll give ya's a heads up!
