I believe that some domains can hold value even when the standard rules do not apply like high Adwords searches, etc. Some names just make sense.

What do you all think of SitDownRestaurants(dot)com? Any chance of end user interest? I also regged the singular version.

I've seen some pretty bad domains lately. This one is not in the top ten but its pretty bad.. The "sit down" ruins it.. I'd rather see "Dine In" or something like that..
Good Luck

Auction in off.. You'll get an idea of what its actually worth..
Dont start it at any crazy amount cause you'll just be wasting your time.. I'd say $1 start..

Disagree with TDOT.
This isn't a keyword name, it isn't a 'domainers' domain nor is it a resellers name.
For development, though, I can think of a few ideas where this pony could be made to giddyup, but you'd have to put your back into it and do something in the way of full scale development. I actually kinda like it. Again, very little reseller value, but totally dig the concept. We use the phrase "sit down restaurant" in our household, whenever we're on the road, looking for a bite to eat and deciding what we want.

I see.. Up in the Tdot we don't use the type of lingo.. "Dine In" is used here.. I've never heard any one say "let's go to that sit down restaurant"...
Good luck though..

Now we're talking, my reasoning for regging this name was solely for developing purposes.

Where is Tdot? You're correct, no one says "Let's go to that sit down restaurant". They do, however, say "Do you know of any nice sit-down restaurants? I'm sick of fast food!" That is my initial idea for development is to showcase various sit-down restaurants in locations across the country and/or world. A review site basically. I very much agree with Johnny Wad that this will need to be more than a mini-site and will take some real work.

Thanks to the both of you for your thoughts!

Edit: "Dine In Restaurant" is also a sensible term as I have heard it in normal conversation as well, so I also purchased that name. Now the question is which one I should use for my development idea.

If you're willing to think big with this and work equally hard, I imagine you could probably kick some serious ass with the concept. Review sites are a dime a dozen... GOOD review sites- that aren't simply a lame bolt-on to an existing search infrastructure- are hilariously underrepresented, given how they tend to crush serps.

This will take work and some ingenuity, but this is precisely the sort of project that winds up accidentally dominating the entire world- like tripadvisor, etc.

Edit: "Dine In Restaurant" is also a sensible term as I have heard it in normal conversation as well, so I also purchased that name. Now the question is which one I should use for my development idea.

Sit-Down gets more monthly exact believe it or not, (about 260- no biggie- this is clearly a brand platform), but TDOT has displayed that there is a regional bend to this. Might want to test both in Beta and see how it flies. Your keyword richness is going to be highly contingent on the keywords in your brand platform (dine in v. sit down) so a strong beta strategy is key here.

Breaks the 14-character-rule-of-domains™ therefore you should not develop or beta-tize. Short is good, long is bad. People don't want to write an essay trying to get to a website.

Reg fee undeveloped. IMO.

Disclaimer: Please keep in mind that this is a FREE appraisal. This is a guess at quick flip resale value not an unrealistic end-user price. Often times my appraisals are rushed, too low, or too high. Sometimes my advice is totally wrong and occasionally downright dumb. If the post stamp is after 5:00pm EST, the chances are even greater that inaccuracies will occur due to blood alcohol levels.

not bad, get a host if you don't already have one and develop this name. It could be great.

'Sit down restaurants' sounds so strange! It may be a common phrase in some part of the world but certainly not here where I live.

I've seen a lot of talk about the "domain length rule" but it really doesn't hold water if a site contains quality content and makes sense in people's minds. "Free Internet Porn" is more than 14 characters but I would love to have that domain name.

After all, isn't the Favorites feature meant to prevent typing in websites? Not arguing your appraisal, but I just wanted to give my two cents on the "domain length rule". :p
