Let's say you want to register a domain that ends with the word server, so something like this

*server.com or *servers.com

singular or plural? keeping in mind it is for business use

Multiserver.com or multiservers.com . Multiservers is the clear choice .Fastserver.com or Fastservers.com do you want people to think its a 1 server company??

My experience (noting that my surname ends with an "s") is that people are often lazy and forget the "s" on the end of a word.

I have a number of names where I have the singular version of a name with a website on the plural version and I get emails and typein traffic that is really intended for the other site. By carefully and politely forwarding the emails I have been able to generate sales of the singular version as the company with the other site sees the value of having my name as well.

If grammatically it makes sense to have the plural version, try to get the singular version as well so you do not lose any traffic.

I agreed with David about singular names.

When people search for key words, they often type in singular names and expect the search engines to pick up plurals.

It does not make sense in the grammar and syntax world but it does make sense in the internet world.

Just my 2 cents!

If you really don't have to choose between the two, use them both.

However, the singular sounds more like a business name while the plural sounds more like an array of products.

Agreed with David as well, but if I were to choose, I would choose the singular one for business name (as James pointed out), and plural for the specific product offerings.

Always plural with servers. Slipondajimmy said it perfectly.

hmmm singular for a business? It would depend on the product or products the business offers. for example........

ev1servers.net . They offer a wide variety of servers(linux, windows, pentium, celeron) and so on . servers fits it perfect.

IBM(international business machines) this is saying they offer a wide variety of product.

Namepros.com Would you rather this be namepro.com implying that there is only one person that knows anything about names on this site?LOL
