I recently started my own domain portfolio site..
I want to build trust, professionalism and just a good reputation.

Under the "about us" section, should I make it personal like say, This site is owned by (myname), (myname) is a etc?

Or should it be ust about what the site offers?: I have the following so far

Welcome to (sitename)!

(sitename) is a showcase/portfolio of creative and brandable domains. We birth great ideas that have the potential to be developed into the next successful start-up, non-profit, app, blog, and much more. Additionally, our team of designers formulate great concepts to help better share the vision and idea behind each domain name or brand we own. Most of our brands are open for sale, lease and even partnership. We also have "House Brands". These are domains we personally plan to develop.

All the domains available on this site are owned by Namees.com, so you do not have to go through any middle-man. If you have any questions, feel free to email us at sales@(sitename).com. You may also use the Contact menu option above to submit a query.

Thanks for your feedback....

Share examles if possible..

any private/future plans, I would leave out, unless you are just open about it

That site is like wtf?
100 bucks to advertise there and it says nothing about why.

To the OP.
I would make it more personal, use your name, etc.
People love trust.
A cookie cutter about page does not inspire trust.

Provide as much personal details to garner trust from your userbase. But wait, how will you build that userbase? Only when you are open on sharing information about yourself or people behind the business they are going to be using.

Whenever I try to use some service, I havent used ever, I try to Google for that business to find more details and people behind that business.

Now, what a great example of what your About Us page should NOT like. You can print that and use it as a reminder.

I for one think that About Us pages should and started to receive m uch more attention through the years. With niches becoming overloaded with competition you HAVE TO find a way to stand out from the crowd. The once fancied corporate mumbo-jumbo will get you nowhere i- you have to showcase the real face and values of your company... and with the text there you have to find a unique way to keep this attention and make a step towards building trust with the visitor. ;)

lol, you work for a company thats suppose to be eco-friendly....why dont you go change that to a company that's eco instead...not too friendly, and not a friendly showing of the face of your company either.

It's obvious, if you want to post something here, don't, because even if you have just begun a page, people will take it as horrible just because, whatever they can come up with. WebHostFace and it's staff has lost any trust from this visitor

Apparently put your face on it and your contact information and make sure you give enough to feed the wolves

I'm not sure what else to give. Please see what I have here: http://namees.com/about/
It's a site that simply list my domain names through logos...I don't know what else to share...

Not really sure what your point is because I couldn't get much of the post but from what I gathered I will certainly not stoop down to provocations as this is not the topic at hand. An opinion was asked and I stepped in with an advice based on my experience. Not too sure what un-friendly behavior you noticed but if it is the criticism I started with - the aim was to be constructive and raise an attention of the obvious. I am sure that 9/10 people in the industry will share the same opinion. So keep your head up and don't be so easily offended, its a public forum after all and anyone asking for opinion should be able to handle one ;)

...and someone can return that to on topic... :)
