I have a Shopify site for one of my brands that cost $29 a month. Does anyone know of a domainer using Shopify, or something similar, to showcase and sell domains? Thanks

Bulloney

I'd say you can get other website hosting much cheaper, I use wordpress for my site, I can add paypal buy it now buttons to cheap domains, but the rest will have to go through escrow either way, so the shopify option probably wouldn't be as cheap. I can see how, if you had concept logos, it would be easier to list domains in a grid on shopify though, I've spent hours messing around with wordpress tables, galleries etc., but I'm no developer.

I run a shopify dropshipping store too and I really do like the interface but I just can't seem to justify the outlay. With wordpress you have to pay upfront yearly tho I think, if I remember rightly. It's nice to see stats etc. on your terms, but sometimes I wonder if it's better, cheaper and easier to just use a marketplace landing page!

I've used Wordpress - $3.99 a month hosting - with domain names/logos in a grid format. Although I haven't integrated Buy Now into this website, it is easy to do with a Woocommerce plugin. And, as @Criterion811 said, with Wordpress you get good stats, but also get better control, can add your own SEO, etc.

One site I developed is for sale - jagdomains.com

@Thirwell Castle - if you invest in a 3-year up-front hosting, you can get GoDaddy managed Wordpress hosting for $3.99/mo (and a free domain name upon purchase, registered for as long as your hosting plan), or if you want to do Linux cPanel (upon which you install Wordpress), its only $2.99 a month for 3 years (also free domain name). Each plan is a little more per month if you only do 2 years or 1 year up front. So with cPanel, you pay $108 and get 3 years of hosting plus a domain name registered for 3 years - not a bad deal.

Didn't know that, that's significantly cheaper than I'm currently paying. Do you get a business email extention with that too @Kpett ? Thanks for the info!

@Criterion811 - I know they give you 1 year of Office365 with their Wordpress hosting ... don't recall if you get 1 year with cPanel ...

You could have a budget hosting plan with a free copy of softaculous for $12 per year. Softaculous lets you auto-install loads of software packages like Wordpress, B2evolution, OSticket. and others. That's with WSWD, who I use for Name Stag, Fox Foo, Name Cougar, and a load of other sites.

Use URL forwarding to sub-directories to give you effective hosting for unlimited domains.
