Hi,

I'm trying to determine the value of a domain but there seems to be a lot of conflicting statistics. The one I'm looking at is a .net with a CPC and exact search twice as high as a similar .com that sold recently for $3k. Valuate estimates the value of the .com at around its sale price and my .net at next to nothing.

Valuate also estimates the .com of the domain I'm looking at as 7 times higher than the .net.

Thoughts anyone?

Thanks, Todd

Valuate just uses publicly available sales data for their precise "appraisals" of sold names ..
Before it was sold Valuate had probably been showing anything between $0 and $xxx,xxx..
You can not appraise your domain based on CPC+searches+similar .com sale price .. There are dozens factors on top of that including but not limited to what industry you target, name brandability, geo considerations, does .net fit the name, how many potential buyers are there, .com availability and asking price, historical sales of names with same/similar keywords etc etc.. Valuate is for entertainment only..

imho
