Im pretty much trying to learn SEO , and was wondering what are the benifits of having over 200 Domains that are all related , for example i have a domain portfolio of 250 Real Estate terms of major citys and states. What i have read so far is interlinking these all together should give me pretty good stradegy with search engines , but being a noob to SEO i was wondering what else having such a network allows you to do with seo and just the benifits of it .... Thanks in advance

Are they all on the same server? If so, be careful. Too much interlinking will set off a red flag and the mighty engines will see what you are up to.

I would say, link where relevant.

So would it make sense to have three or four different hosting accounts and spread your domains around, so that not all the links appear to come from the same server?

Yes it would definitely make sense to have three or four different hosting accounts and spread your domains around as Google can perceive interlinking between domains as link spam if they are on the same IP, for which it may penalize.

More than one hosting account would help make it less suspicious.

Good luck with your sites.

You also need to think about your whois information

I've always wondered if they look at that...after all, Alexa does, so why not the big engines?

But, I don't know if they do. You got any info?

They do look at whois such as the age of a domain which plays a part in ranking. Im not sure if it would come into play for interlinking though, i wouldnt think it does. Even with four different hosting accounts it may still get you penalised by google, i wouldnt of thought so in msn and yahoo though. The real estate niche online is filling up with spam now so im sure the search engines are placing closer attention to that niche so be carefull with your strategies.
