Hi there

I have a quick question about SEO and paging... say I have a hotels site and I want have 100+ search results, split across ten pages for Toronto.

Which would run better for SEO?

hotelsite.com/toronto/1
hotelsite.com/toronto/2
hotelsite.com/toronto/3
hotelsite.com/toronto/4

-or something like-

hotelsite.com/toronto_1
hotelsite.com/toronto_2
hotelsite.com/toronto_3
hotelsite.com/toronto_4

I'm still trying to figure out of the depth of the folders will have a negative impact.

Thanks,
A.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.

there is no negative impact for depth folders as far as i know, but the google only deep crawl 2 levels at a time...create site map to solve the problem...

I think its better hotelsite.com/toronto_1 also changes in titles must appreciated by SE's like hotels in toronto - Page 1 so that no full duplicate titles...

Thanks for that vinodkv, so are you saying that for each different page (of the same result set) that the title tag should dynamically change as well? Would I have to do the same with meta keywords and descriptions too?

Cheers
A

As suggested, only i would ad a suggestion on top of that which is that you shouldn't use underscores "_" but create URL's like this:

hotelsite.com/toronto-1
hotelsite.com/toronto-2

It's better recognized by the search engines that way.
It would also indeed be wise to vary your meta keywords and descriptions as best as you can.

And do the same for your page titles as well, make them as unique as possible.

I wouyld definately go with toronto-1.html or toronto-1.php

Rather then toronto/1/
