The semantic web a.k.a Web 3.0 debuting towards the end of this year is an evolving extension of the World Wide Web in which web content can be expressed not only in natural language, but also in a format that can be read and used by software agents, thus permitting them to find, share and integrate information more easily. It derives from W3C director Sir Tim Berners-Lee's vision of the Web as a universal medium for data, information, and knowledge exchange.

"Semantic Web," or semantic webs?
Microsoft's Catherine Marshall and Texas A&M's Frank Shipman have written one of the more cogent assessments to date of the great fuzz-ball of hyperbole that has become "The Semantic Web":
What should we expect from the Semantic Web? ... Perhaps the first perspective, that of taming the web to create a universal digital library - a modern-day Library of Alexandria - is more in the realm of Google-like approaches that do not rely on such an abrupt shift in the practices and economies surrounding the Web.
...
What we are left with then is the Semantic Web's potential in the realm of the particular, especially its ability to weave together specific resources well motivated by business ... or institutionally-supported digital libraries... In these cases, resources may be available to perform the kinds of knowledge engineering, cataloging, and librarianship that is called for.
...
It may be that - at least in the short term - that there are many semantic webs rather than The Semantic Web; they may - even in the long term - take us where we need to go.

I haven't heard of this term before, but if it is the way I read it is, then you've got a pretty good name here.
The value? Completely speculative right now. Whenever a new tech comes by, there are numerous regs, but if the technology is successful or not determines the domains value.

Definitely one to wait and watch...see ya in an year with this name...

Thanks for your message. Allot of "Semantic" technology has already been released on the Web. If you do a search on Google "Semantic Web" you will see that Semantic technology has already been developed and products are sold by misc. companies.

I'm just a newbie in domaining but I know the Semantic Web and I've never heard of the term "Semantic Webs". Nonetheless I think it can worth something, maybe $XXX+. Unfortunately, I guess you have to wait if you wanna sell this dname. Maybe you could develop this one...

I just realized that your name is a plural. I thought it was singular.

The plural would hurt the value a LOT in this case. 'Webs' is not a name in the internet context.

Even if this takes off, you'll find it hard to get above mid xx with the plural.

The debate is whether Web 3.0 should be called "Semantic Web" or "Semantic Webs" so I guess the plural factor doesn't affect the domain name as of now... what say?

I agree, plural hurts, mid $xx, maybe, from me.
