Hi so when selling on sedo,Dan afternic they all ask for the buy now price. But I’d like an offer but sedo say for maximum exposure you should list as a buy now. but in my eyes if I’d like let’s say 1500 but have it up for 400 someone can just buy it for 400 when it could have gone higher.

I know people will just say list it as make an offer but on sedo for eg your exposure goes down if listed as make offer.

Have I got this totally wrong please educate me if this is the case.
How does everyone list

To qualify for the premium network you just have to have a buy now price set with Afternic, you don't necessarily have to use the buy it now lander. So for example, you can set 1500 as the BIN, 1000 as the floor and 500 as the minimum offer, then use the Request Price lander. A buyer will request the price from Afternic and they will negotiate with them. They can accept as low as the floor that you set without asking you first, or they will communicate with you if an offer comes in between the minimum and the floor.

this wasnt the question i was asking. the reply before understood what i was getting at.

maybe i should have said if an appraisal is saying $1500 but you think it could sell for more why put a BIN of $800 just as an example because this is what sedo was asking for a BIN.
basically i wont max exposer but wont people to make an offer and dont wont to list as a buy now which is what sedo was flagging up when i was changing my lists to make offer.

im just trying to get max views and exposer as possible while being new to this and learning the right way but i wont the control of bids that might come in hope this makes sense.

To get maximum exposure via Sedo MLS your names need to be listed with a buy it now price. This is set in; Domain Management > Sales Settings.
To also allow offers on these listings go to; My Account > General Settings > "Enable bids on Buy Now domains". Bear in mind that this might only show the "Make Offer" option on MLS partner sites.

cheers for the comment this is my issue i dont wish to under value something that could be worth more money to someone else by telling what ill take when they might have paid x4 time that much.

just trying to gauge a happy medium

That is the very nature of domain buying and selling. gauging the best domains and the best price to sell them for is all part of understanding the fundamentals behind the market . You can't shortcut this knowledge or awareness you can only ask your peers here on name pros their opinion as a best second option.

I'm not a 100% behind using previous sales data as a reference point as each domain is unique. A potential buyer will also have a different outlook on the value as well.

Welcome to the world of calculated outcomes. It is part of the skill-set you will have to acquire if you plan on moving forward in the domain market
