I was on Sedo and typed the keyword "slots". Obviously there are hundreds if not thousands of names with "slots" in them, but within the top 10-20 on the list there was area.co, holes.org, places.info, etc. A bunch of names that have absolutely nothing to do with the keyword i entered. My question, what is the point to list on a site that cant even have a proper list for your search? What determines where you listing is on the site you are listed on? Excluding paid exposure, is it traffic? is it random? is it by expiring time? in order of when they were listed? please inform me if you know the answer, as i dont possibly see how places.info would be in the top 15 listings for slots.

Are you sure those domains you mentioned weren't PAID Listings?

Sedo has many options to get the most exposure for your domains on there.

You can pay to have your domains shown with laser targetted pinpoint accuracy to those looking for similar keywords to your domain. This costs more and then is the run of the mill promotion which will show you domain in the top of your searches. don't matter what the keywords are. Those ads get shown.

that may depend on the "filter" options

if you want names, with prices, and you want the lowest price listed first...
then your names should have lowest price in that category or subject.

same in reverse, if searching for highest priced names first
or if search is done alphabetically or by length.
