Selling on Sedo?

Ok, let me start off by saying that I've never used Sedo before to sell a domain before. Well, on August 3rd, I reached an agreement with a buyer to sell one of my domains for $300. Problem is, they have done nothing as of yet (Sedo is still waiting for them to confirm their account details I believe).

So my question is, how long will Sedo wait before cancelling the transaction? I now have an interested buyer here at NP who has been waiting for several days to get word on the status of this, but I have heard nothing from Sedo. It's been 10 days now. Any ideas?

Thanks! :xf.love:

Email your rep (Who initially emailed you regarding the transaction) for an update, and he/she can tell you much more.
In my experience, if a sale is going to "bust", they'll notify you in 2-3 weeks of the lack of activity on the part of the potential buyer.
I've got 3 in "limbo" right now, so I'll cross my fingers for both of us ;)

Ah, alright. Thanks. I actually got the notice from Sedo this morning, saying that the transaction has been cancelled. Thankfully in this case I have a backup buyer.

If they don't pay within 24 hours they usually have received some advice to cancel from a third party. Most of the time the domain has been "down"praised between the decision to buy and the decision to pay by people who pretend that domains and webs do have objective value. Thank You, appraisers!

Not to put a downer on the situation, but if it is taking this long for your buyer to wire less than 300 dollars into escrow you have to wonder how legit this buyer is. Personally, if you have a ready, willing and able buyer at NP I would call SEDO and put a deadline so you can make your sale. Currently, I have a 18K transaction I am waiting on for more than a week, but this is a large sum and I would expect a longer wait period.

Good luck with your sale and congrats!

You can also ask the details of the bidder. They will give them to go if the bid is fake

I have to disagree with you there... I've sold a dozen domains on Sedo and about 50% take more than 24 hours to pay - none have canceled, but then again my approach is a bit different than most.
