Does Sedo allow anonymous offers?

I had a domain listed on Sedo and recieved an offer which I gladly accepted.
This is what's listed when I click on the T next to the domain.

05/26/06 Agreement reached
05/28/06 The buyer of the domain has yet to confirm his personal details and contract type. Every effort is being made to contact the buyer in order to get him to complete this information. Once this has been done, the transfer can proceed to the next stage.

I still haven't gotten a response about this domain. So my question is this. Does Sedo allow random anonymous offers to be made? For instance, someone could go on there, make 1,000 random offers and never have to follow through? When an agreement is reached, I'm supposedly legally bound by a contract, but if they don't even know who the buyer is, how can a contract exist? They told me after 7 days, the offer would expire, but it's been over 7 days now.

This just seems very unprofessional in my opinion, that you could have a domain tied up for so long, without any serious intent from the buyer. What if you get another offer during this time? I think they need to change their system to at least get the buyer info before allowing them to make an offer.

Anyone else experience problems like these?

Sedo does have the info of the buyer, but won't reveal to the seller until the sale has completed. Probably so buyers and sellers don't make any off-site deals cutting them out.

If the buyer doesn't follow through in their time limits (See the TOS), you will likely be able to get the info to file a civil suit if you wish. Good luck with that though, as it would normally be difficult and expensive to persue.

At Sedo you will always get offers but rarely will find a serious buyer.

This has been my experience, as well ... and for a long, long time I'd been receiving approx. $30 - $40/month from parking there, as well (which paid for a heck of a lot of domain name reg's and renewals, IMHO)! :yell:
Finally, though, I took them all off of Sedo and began plans for their development and/or directly contacting End users! :talk:
All the best!

I have a transaction that is taking almost 2 months to complete so a week is really nothing and I remember reading of others having the same experience. Sometimes it takes a while but I agree that the name should still be available for sale, especially if the buyer is procastinating. The name I sold was tied up for a month, they cancelled the transaction and then re-instated it again when the buyer finally contacted them again. It's finally going through now. Good luck with your sale. :)

I am batting 90% with Sedo accepted offers as of late.

Thanks for all the info guys, I appreciate the responses. I guess I am just a bit impatient, but after reading the TOS more carefully, I've got a pretty decent understanding of how it works. Again, I just don't like the idea of being stuck in a legal contract that may take a month or may never happen, when I might be receiving other offers from more motivated buyers.

My other complaint with Sedo is that they take too long to post my domains when I add them. Some of them are done instantly, while some take forever. They say that if you park them there, they can tell you own the domain instantly, but this doesn't seem to be the case. I've had a domain thats been sitting in red (waiting to be verified) for 4 days now. When I search in the Buy section for it, it comes up showing I've already had an offer for it, but of course, I can not access this offer until they approve the domain. I'm just hoping the offer doesn't expire before it actually gets approved :)

Overall I like Sedo, I just think they would benefit from applying more streamlined trading procedures.
