Selling domains using a pool.com auction

Has anyone tried selling domains with a pool.com auction? It costs $8 to $20, but you seem to get a lot of exposure -- due to the fact few third parties seem to sell there.

Dropping domains seem to go for high prices there, so I was wondering if you can get a good price at their auctions.

I tried about 4 names when they first started the "marketplace". I sold one out of 4 and just about broke even after paying the fees. Also keep in mind that you MUST transfer your name to Namescout.com to do so, and the name is put in Pool's whois name while on auction, meaning they have an exclusive listing. If not sold you may want to transfer to another registrar afterwards since namescout charges about $25 for renewals.

I may recommend it for a very high profile name only.

What exactly do you mean. They chage a cetain fee for listing $8-$20 and they charge the prchaser 2%. Do they charge anything else?

Beware!

FYI, I'm having a terrible time with the one domain I tried to list there. Technical issues, not getting the domain listed correctly with proper exposure (for the Platinum..best...package). Relisted for a second round and then went missing! Not showing up for sale or in my control panel. I contacted them and they told me it "sold" for $10 above my opening bid price. Problem is, if it actually sold...I got absolutely no notice, it sold on the first day of the auction (relisting). I got cheated out of 13 more days of bidding. It's been 2 weeks and I'm getting pathetic responses. I've just asked for my domain back and my $20 to be refunded. I was willing to let them work out the kinks and relist it, but 2 weeks with no progress is aggravating!

Pool ... hmmm i am really starting to think they have a bidding agenda. I have questioned them on this and they obviously stated they do not bid up domains to get more revenue. I tell you though so so many bidders names are pool associated. The whole pool experience lately is putting a bad taste in my mouth.

Sure i have bourght some classic domains through them but it did not come cheap.
