Hi

Probably there is no clear answers here for selling domains, but what are the possible avenues to sell co.in & .in domains?

1. Are there any auction sites like TDNAM?
2. Any sites where one can showcase like GreatDomains.com

If people here have successfully sold their co.in & .in names, can share their tips that would help

Thanks

Hi TK,

I can give you some pointers but iam sure others have other solutions. I do not keep trade secrets if i can help others sell there names i like to help so this is what i currently do with my .co.in and .in names.

1. List on Sedo ... We all know Sedo has a huge impact when it comes to selling names. People not in the domain buying industry, your regular company or person looking for name 9 times out of 10 will go to Sedo via reputation or because they have heard it is safe. This will enable you to make money if you park your pages there also.

Keynote on this... make sure the keywords you use traffic the Indian market so for instant if you have mortgage.in use something like mortgages in new delhi or india as keywords so you get the right populous you want to target.

2. Create or develop some of your names whilst they are still on Sedo. I have done this with a few of mine not only does it drive traffic to the domain/website it will enable the domain to get around the search engines, earn money via adsense or other ppc programs and increase Page Rank. On one of my domains .co.in domains www.listed.co.in i have a huge list of all my .co.in and .in names this site now gets over 200 uniques a day and since going live now holds a Page Rank of 3.

3. Populate indian Directories. There are quite a few directories out there in India which are very good so add your sites to them and give them a link on your site. I like the buddy/buddy scheme you help them they will help you by advertising your site. Heres one add to it http://www.bahiacar.com/

I also add my names to Afternic even though i do not park there the more exposure you can give your names the better it will be in the long run.

To date i have sold a few of mine between $xxx - $x,xxx and i still get a lot of offers come in via sedo or via email. I have now stopped selling them until i get bigger offers in, because one day in the future and this is important the domain extensions will mature quite nicely if you hold some good names they will be worth some good money.

I hope this helps you my friend.

Best Regards
Steve

Thanks Steve,

This is a very good write up.... I do have few comments

I had listed 70+ domains on sedo for lowest price of $50. In one year I never got any inquiries... Out of those 70 domains I managed to sell 20 on TDNAM, some for High $xx. My point is I see people pointing me to Sedo, but I rarely see any success, makes me think I am missing something.

I will work on your other advices.

Tk,

Its the other advice that will drive the people (indian) not resellers to the domains on Sedo. Try to get your names out there in the right areas in local publications in new delihi or other major cities in India. Like earlier i mentioned the Indian directories these are very important.

Let me know how you get on and if i can help then i will point you to areas of interest.

PS.

Also another good tip is create a blog!! all about your indian domains. Blogs gets spidered nicely by search engines and it also opens you up to rss feeds etc etc
