Seeen my first major .mobi site advertised today here in the UK

There I was waiting at the bus stop on the way to the dentists when I happened to notice that on the bus timetable they were advertising 'NextBuses.mobi' to find out the time of the next bus.

Anyway come home, checked it out and www.NextBuses.mobi is indeed live and it allows people to check the local bus servicees (apparently nationwide via StageCoach - one of the main service providers here in the UK). Anyway what is strange is that the domain NextBuses.co.uk is also owned by the same company and shows a mirror site.

Now why would the company concerned use the signs in the bus stops to advertise a .mobi instead of a .co.uk? All I can think of is someone in an office somewhere thought it would be hip to advertise it as .mobi.

Any one riding is using a mobile device and the .mobi extension is for mobile devices. Not strange at all to have different URL for the same site.

They just link to a different page on site.
For hostnhub I have several extensions also. com. net, mobi
