Sedo.tv, talk about an auction exploding out of the gate
I think the market has spoken within the first 10 minutes of the auction. This is exciting!!!

Hi SR,
I am not talking about simple redirects ... and I see zero stand-alone, developed .TV's on a daily basis (perhaps it's a geographic thing?)
twit.tv whats that all about
am not a big fan of ustream and justin.tv not found anything worth watching yet
Estibot values ustream as RegFee!!!!
For real.
Hi SR,
I am not talking about simple redirects ... and I see zero stand-alone, developed .TV's on a daily basis (perhaps it's a geographic thing?) IMHO. The two that I have seen ... "MLB.TV" and "CBScares.TV" ... are both URL redirects to the respective .COM's; if 100 ordinary people outside of domainers are asked about the ".TV" my guess is 0 or maybe 1 person might have heard of it, and they'd look & feel confused.
That's just the reality of the present situation (to which content / development of auctioned domains could help to address in a timely manner), IMHO. :yell:
Thanks for the reply,
Jeff![]()
It makes sense that the new, cheaper pricing structure would add perceived value to those domains in a hyped up auction in and amongst .TV domainers and enthusiasts ... but some of the systemic problems of the ccTLD ".TV" and its brand will continue IMHO. We'll see how it all ends up, but as importantly ... whether any actual End users acquire these domains and build exciting video-centric content/websites! :gl:
It's been fun to follow the auction, and see all the hoopla (including mediocre domains being registered en masse with overpriced auction prices) ... but, unfortunately, things all back to normal for the .TV on April 8th! :imho:
All the best,
Jeff![]()
I don't know if you've noticed, but I see a lot of the YouTube celebrities using .TV.
This is changing as we speak and given recent changes in the pricing of ~98% of .TV domains, the rate of .TV development IMO is getting ready to accelerate. That will not necessarily translate into a sizable aftermarket for mediocre .TV domains.
I did not notice, thanks ... the ".TV" is the ultimate niche / vanity address ... so this makes perfect sense, IMHO. :music:
But Jeff - when you say things like .TV is the ultimate vanity address....no its not, not at all - it has nothing to do with vanity and everything to do with tv or video....the ultimate vanity extension is .ME - no other way to see it.
Also, your entire argument against .TV collapses like a house of cards when you continue to promote, IN BOLD .web as if it was the coming of messiah. .WEB is really gonna be a winner, while .net is going into the toilet head first in the secondary market
I see zero stand-alone, developed .TV's on a daily basis (perhaps it's a geographic thing?) IMHO.
... but if your argument is that .Tv is crap because of your geographic position...
Where on God's great planet are you......?
