Buy Now sale vs. Managed Auction Events?
Which do you tend to use, and any reason why it's better?

Any tips for a Sedo Noob?

Sedo recommends that Buy Now with a fixed price is the best way to sell a domain. In fact all sales veues recommend this approach. I personally don't heed this advice because I sell the same domain at more than 1 platform, and I don't want to be caught out selling the same domain to 2 people at 2 different sales venues. Yes it can happen, but it's rare. I list all my domains for sale at Sedo, Afternic, GoDaddy, My own website, and from links from parking pages. My most successful venue from these 5 is selling at GoDaddy. It just must be about the number of eyeballs.

I was surprised to see that SEDO recommend the fixed prices on sales because it limits the potential sale amount, but yes, their own recommendations do mention to fix a price which I have done. Still slow going. Certainly seems like the industry has quieted down greatly in the last few years.

Actually. I found the opposite to be true. I have had loads of inquiries, mostly thru GoDaddy, from the last quarter of last year thru the first quarter of this year.

Of course you are only going to get people taking you up on your offers if your pricing is reasonable for a fixed price offer. If you are offering fixed prices with ridiculously high prices. You won't see many sales :(

It's no surprise that all sales venues recommend Buy Now instead of Offers, as this way they will get their sure share of the cake while with Offers there is always the risk of the Potential buyer and Owner contacting each other directly during the negotiations and then excluding the venue to minimize the fees and heading over to Escrow.com directly.. i have done several sales exactly this way..
