Sedo - Revive option?

Missed an "o" in title. :tri:

I have had a few offers at Sedo where simply by nature you counter, the weight of the counter is usually determined by the name under offer.

On a few occassions the "buyer" has just immediately pulled the plug and cancelled the negotiation.

For my premium names not a problem, they are generally lowball offers that nobody would accept - wait for the genuine buyer.

For the lower grade middle of the road names I counter lower. For instance , yesterday, I had an offer of 489 euro on an name, 1 euro above my minimum set offer, I countered with 2999 euro, certainly not over the top - "buyers" response was to immediately cancel the negotiation- perhaps not even aware that they could also counter.

Chances are I would have sold at, or around, buyers original offer, the name was a two months old reg and just an ok name.

I am sure I am not alone with this problem and it costs us and Sedo potential sales income.

How about Sedo incorporating some sort of revive option whereby contact with "buyer' could be resurrected :?

Wot are your thoughts :?

2nd chance

Sounds like a good idea. Kinda like a second chanceto reconsider an offer.

I edited the title... ;)

Oh, and I think Sedo would worry about losing the % before they hooked up with buyers.

in response to a first offer, maybe include some comments about how neato the domain is, and how it could be used.

it might be harder for them to cancel if they feel like they are in a conversation with a reasonable person. instead of getting a cold hard cash response (price only).

Yes, I think when countering you should just add a message too, that could prevent the buyer from a swift cancellation.

Reminds me of a time when I offered 200EUR for a minimum offer 100EUR name and got countered with 500.000EUR :)

You can ask a Sedo rep to contact the potential buyer. I was contacted once as the seller had changed their mind and was willing to accept my best offer before we broke negotiations :)

The prblem with that is that Sedo take so long to "check" the comments ,particularly if it a weekend, three days in may cases, and I believe the counter offer is still sent awaitng the comment to arrive later :?

That is basically what I am saying but have it as some sort of option incorporated in to the system :?
