Does anyone know, if you start an auction for a domain, does this automatically make the listed auctions on the sedo.com frontpage? Or is your auction only listed on the homepage if you pay (like regular domains for sale, where you have to pay to make the homepage)?

Also, if you counterbid an existing offer and the bidder would accept the new (higher) price, can you still decide to auction then using the new bid as starting price?

The "Featured Auctions" on Sedo's homepage are a paid service, most domains in auctions don't appear in there.

I think that if the bidder accepts your counter offer you can't send the domain into auction, since you made the offer and he accepted it.

If you send your domain name to auction it will be listed on the homepage in the auction section several hours before the auction ends. If you don't have a name in auction but still want it to appear you should buy a featured or showcase listing.

If you counter bid and the buyer accepts that offer you go right to escrow and sale completes. You can only activate an auction when the buyer submits an offer and it must be within 5 days of the offer being received, otherwise you will only be able to accept current offer or counter with a new offer.

AFAIK the "Featured Domain" panel in the homepage (which is a paid service) is irrelevant with the "Featured Auctions" that shows 3 interesting-to-watch-auctions (in bold) together with the 10 ending-soonest auctions

one more note ... about 2 months ago I had a .info on auction and it did not appear on the homepage while the .com ending right after it was already there ... therefore I think they filter out some extensions from the homepage

So basically auctions do appear on the homepage without having to pay, but they don't appear until shortly before the auction ends? :(

yes (unless you have a premium domain which goes quite high in price early on and gets one of the 3 listings in bold)

you can check the end times of the currently featured auctions to verify this (about ending-soonest)

also , if you check it right now you will see that many extensions don't go to the homepage

currently there are .info , .org , .tv , .am , .de (in order of appearance) domains that are about to end , but are not in the homepage (only .com and .net are there)

Thanks for the info, I stand corrected, and see why the .mobi's never show up there.

actually , I checked some more and the domains/extensions that appear on the homepage depend on the site you are on

I remember seeing an auction for a .co.uk in the homepage some time back (so probably I was on SEDO.co.uk) ... and the .de that are ending in the next hours appear in SEDO.de homepage but not on SEDO.com or SEDO.co.uk ... .nets also seem to be missing from SEDO.de , SEDO.es and SEDO.fr
