Sorry, not sure if this belongs in here, but I couldn't work out where else it would be more suitable to post.

I recently registered a dot info domain. I thought of registering it a few months ago and completely forgot, but to my surprise it was still available when I checked a couple of weeks ago.

The domain is the full name of a young football (soccer) player in the UK and he plays for a top club. He is very young but a hot prospect and making quite a name for himself despite only being in the reserve squad at present.

I registered the domain only about 10 days ago and parked it at sedo about 3 days ago. I checked the stats today and this is what it says:

SEDO said:
DOMAIN STATISTICS:
Visitors to this Sedo Listing*: 5
Unique Visitors per month*: 1
* Data from the previous 32 days

Could someone please explain to me what "Visitors to this Sedo Listing" means. Why is that 5 and unique visits only 1? I don'y understand that at all. I'm new to Sedo and I have parked over 70 domains in the last month and none of them have anything like that.

The player in question has scored 4 hatricks this season for the youth squad; 2 hatricks in the last 2 games. This is very impressive for anyone let alone a player of such young age. (btw. hatrick = 3 goals in one game). Maybe I should put the domain up for appraisal? Help on this would be appriciated.

"Visitor to this sedo listing" means the number of visites to your domain info at sedo. The unique visites are the ones to your www.domain.ext, coming from direct type ins or links.

IMHO an appraisal is useless. Do not waste money in it. The real price is the money that an enduser or a reseller wish to spend in your domain.

Hi jordi, thanks for your response. Much appriciated. I was thinking of putting it into the appraisal section here in NamePros, but I'll wait and see. Maybe after I develop it.

Oh another question... would there be any problems ie trademark/copyright or whatever issues for something like this? lets just say for example it was www.DavidBeckham.info - would I be able to own that or would it get taken away from me? The reason I ask is because I currently own to domains which I've been told to give up if asked for - they belong to huge games companies eg. www.sega.net - not that.. but something very similar - just the company name. Anyhow, appriciate feedback. Thanks.

Yes, you still can potentially lose the name. There are ways to keep it, but you need to be smart about what you are doing with the name.
