Hi All,

I have a question about one of my domain names. I transferred it over to Sedo a few months ago and the traffic has increased quite a bit. It is not huge traffic by any means, but it is a lot more than it used to be when parked at Afternic.

I have offered the domain for sale to a few people who were interested and they always ask me, where does the traffic come from. Well, I really have no idea. How can I determine where the traffic comes form on a Sedo parked domain?

It is not what I would consider a "type-in" domain, it is three words (13 characters) long and when I click analyze the domain from the listing I see:

Incoming Google Links: 0
Incoming Yahoo Links: 2
Incoming MSN Links: 0
Incoming Alexa Links: 0
DMOZ Listed: No
Archive.org Listed: No

Any thoughts?

Thanks!

Yeah, Sedo doesn't really break it down very well. One thing you could try is setting up the domain name at your web provider, then forwarding that domain to Sedo using a small php script. Then your logs would show you exactly where the traffic is coming from. However, I'm not sure where that falls within Sedo's TOS as I haven't tried it, so might want to check before doing so.

It has a couple yahoo links that might be helping the traffic. Also three word combinations, even 13 characters, is not always anti-typein if it's 3 keywords someone might type in. I have cutekittenpictures.com, a long name to be sure, but it did okay on typeins, more than I thought, but 'cute kitten pictures' did have an okay OVT as a key phrase.
