Is it worth the extra money on SEDO to get a category showcase, or home showcase.

Does anyone have the best recommendations on selling on there?

A few years ago I bought a lot of their showcases and featured categories and nothing ever became of them.

A lot of Monet down the drain.. at least for me.

guess i should elaborate

reasoning behind the reply is simple:

if you have a good domain name, it will get found and you will get offers.

maybe not the offers you would accept and maybe not within the "time frame" before renewals are due.

but some offers are better than no offers.

:)

however, if you have a crap name
and you purchase a category listing....no one will buy and you probably won't get any offers either.

imo...

I wouldn't bother with it to be honest. If it's the type of domain allot of resellers would bid on (LLL.net, LLL.com, CVCV.com, LL.biz, LLL.org..etc) then maybe you would get some action on it..

All Sedo listings now show in GoDAddy auctions, I think.

Yes and all with min $60 offer, if the price isn't fixed at Sedo.

It's not good IMO. Many domainers used these to services in the past for their portfolios. And it was good that there were 2 separated services. For me Sedo is mainly for European buyers and Godaddy is for US buyers. In the past you could make a listing at Sedo for a domain.com with "Make offer" option and at Godaddy choose for exapmle premium listing with fixed price.
Now if the name listed at Sedo with "Make offer" it's not possible to list it at Godaddy with a fixed price. At least GD didn't allow me to do it.

--------

I heard even about deeper integration of these to companies - one project, now there are negotiations about the name of the project. 2 possible variants: GoSedo or Sedaddy :)

Exposure will not help if nobody wants your domains.
As Biggie said: if people are interested in your domains they will find you. One way to gauge the quality of your portfolio is the number of unsolicited offers/expressions of interest (or the lack thereof...)
