Sedo lowball "Seller's price expectation"

How do you guys feel about a seller who puts $60 for the "seller's price expectation", but when you bid that they come back at you with a counter offer of 1k or more ? Is this common and to be expected ?

The seller may have put $60 initially while listing the domain, but at a later date changed his/her mind.

Since $60 is the minimum offer on Sedo, some sellers use the $60 listed price as a means of being listed near the top when someone searches on Sedo using the "search by lowest price" option.

Just because someone is looking for low prices doesn't necessarily mean they won't pay more if they find something they really like and oftentimes I think this is what the seller is hoping. And if they get even $60 bids on the name by listing it this way, guess what... Now they're easier to find when you "search by most bids". Not a bad strategy at all

well I once bid on a $60 domain and was countered with 500,000 Eur!
usually though counter offers are 4-5k

Almost sounds like gaming the system when they do that (particularly for the benefits Reece lists), and it can get mighty annoying when you have to go through the trouble of bidding a certain amount (not just $60) only to get an email about a counter-offer that is 100,000% more than what you bid. It'd be better if there was some guidance as to what their expectations so that it doesn't waste peoples' time.

But then again it's totally legit, so you can't really blame them for taking advantage of it.

I don't like it, I think it is very misleading and a total waste of peoples time.
