Sedo "Seller's Price Expectation" = BIN ?

This has been discussed in various places but time for a rehash...

1/ What happens on Sedo if you bid at the sellers price expectation of $X - is this yet another offer that seller can reject?

2/ Specifically, has it ever been known for Buydomains,com listing domains on SEDO with a fixed price ($Y) only for them to reject the offer $Y and then to jack it up following a 'mispricing' b/c of 'market conditions' ?

Or does Buydomains always honor the sale at SEDO if offer meets fixed price ?

I don't know about BuyDomains, but I've had a seller do that to me on Sedo...

It's not a BIN whatsoever in the eBay/Afternic sense.

I know that when I list a domain on Sedo, I often won't go back to adjust prices for several months... With something that's radically increased in value since then, it's perfectly possible that their "price expectation" has changed and it doesn't have much to do with trying to milk more money out of the buyer. I've had this experience on Sedo with some CVCVs listed under $500.. If they were listed a year or two ago, that might have been a perfectly realistic expectation, but is hardly a realistic expectation today -- and I received X,XXX counters on such names.

It depends on sellers pricing option. In case of "make offer" pricing it`s just another offer and can be rejected. If seller did choose "fixed price", he is obligated to sell for BIN.

The same domain is listed at Afternic at the same price (= BIN at Afternic)
Would prefer to transact on Sedo as I have some funds there..

Would be interesting to know the official Buydomains line

I HATE this way that SEDO does business.

Example: I bid on 3 names last week. My bids were at the "Sellers Expectation"

vs.com - 147
voot.com - 500
jeeb.com - 500

While I agree these are GREAT prices and probably the seller may want more - but then why list and ignore offers? I got zero reply, except for today, when SEDO sent me an expiration notice on my bids.

If the seller of these 3 domains happens to be on this forum, please heed the advice - be polite, respond to offers, adn don't put such an artifically low price and then expect people to come out of the starting gate with a 10,000 offer when you only wanted $500.

At least respond to an offer - you never know what will come of it.

Afternic's BIN system is SO MUCH BETTER!!

Never expected to get it for $147 LOL

BUT ... since the seller listed this as his expectation of final price, I DID expect to at least get a reply, a counter offer, something.
