GreatDomains.com which ispopular in industry for listing premium domains only, Today when I checked the website I was feeling like I was visiting Sedo. Every thing is from Sedo except interface. When you search something it has same results as Sedo. You need to apply for Great Domains listing through Sedo and I can't find the actual listing which site had before sedo acquired it.

Sorry to say but GreatDomains.com is no more. I guess after a year a two they will forward GreatDomains.com domain to featured listing of Sedo.

GreatDomains.com is one of the well known brand is the industry, integrating completely with Sedo is killing its value. They should have left it an independent company as Google did with YouTube.com by not mixing YouTube with Google Videos though they are promoting youtube.com by Google.com similar Sedo should promote GreatDomains in Sedo.com instead of making GreatDomains.com a Sedo.com with just different interface.

Thanks

I think you mean the opposite :)

Sorry to say that but GreatDomains.com was nothing before Sedo .. just "Great Domain" without any effective use.

In less than one month Sedo competing with T.R.R.A.F.I.C auction.. and this will happen every month :)

Not to mention , how many end users and big investors are redirecting everyday by GreatDomains.com to dig into Sedo listings.

GreatDomains.com was always dead for people who don't have big money to buy premium quality domains. GreatDomains.com was not for Domainers like me and most of NamePros member but it was actually created for end-users and big business people who could invest atleast in $xx,xxx.

I think sedo will give it a well needed boost, my only concern is with the extra workload it might make it even harder to get an email reply from sedo.

Their communications more often than not - SUCK !

It's good to see Sedo helping them, but hopefully it won't take away from their support and such.

I have no problem with support whatsoever, you just need to pick up the phone if you want an immediate response, if there is something strongly on your mind then give that person a call.

Heck, I'm not super proficient in the English language when it comes to verbally expressing myself, but i try to do my best and things will get worked out either way.

I do get my message across and that's what counts.

The GreatDomains.com brand is stronger then ever with the exposure they are enjoying now and with that said the exposure to the overall Sedo marketplace.

It's all good man! B-)

Agreed. They used to be respected but it was a long time ago.
They killed their credibility with .cc & .tv domains.
I believe Sedo was interested in the portfolio and not the brand.

GreatDomains only had like 1 sale on the DNJournal top charts and it was only for like $17k. I'm sure they handle a few private sales, but generally speaking they were pretty much dead. I'm not a big fan of Sedo though in general and this just seemed like a lame effort to match the goings-on over at Afternic. We'll see though, maybe it'll turn into something good. I just would have rather seen Sedo improving their current services before taking on more.

Sedo killed the GreatDomains.com brand
Actually, GreatDomains killed the GreatDomains.com brand. With zero marketing and almost zero online presence. Not to mention they passed on truly top names while at times listing near junk names.

VeriSign killed GreatDomains ... before that - ie. late 90s, they were the place people sought to be listed at with good service ... but again, once VeriSign acquired them, it was downhill fast - as in practically overnight...

In a nutshell, others here are spot on about GreatDomains brand being dead for quite awhile ... most anything Sedo does with it will be an improvement.
