I am going to try to start End Users bidding on a Domain Name on Sedo very soon.
Frankly I still don't understand the way Sedo Auctions work so if you can answer some of my questions I would appreciate it:
1.
I want to set a Reserve Price on my Sedo Listing for an Auction.
a.
How do I make the reserve price?
b.
Should I keep it at "Make an Offer" and then when an offer is made, do I push it to auction and then privately decide that on the amount of the reserve price during the Auction?
c.
Can I push it to Auction after an Offer is made?
2.
Buy the Sedo "Featured Listing" for $ 39
Would you recommend this before a First Bid is made or after
3.
Contact End Users ...
I believe a Generic Letter shown below explaining Sedo Auctions and find the Auction Site should be sufficient.
4. Hope to get an initial bid.
Here's a copy of the sample language which again I want to keep as simple as possible:

IN SUBJECT BOX:
BPOLIST.com ... is for SALE! BID on it at SEDO.COM

SAMPLE LETTER:
BPOLIST.com Domain Name is being Auctioned!

Bid on it at SEDO.COM by following this link:

The First Bid will Start the Auction Period which will then end seven (7) days after the First Bid is made.

BPO, which stands for Broker Price Opinions and Business Process Outsourcing, are very popular terms in the real estate market and in outsourcing services.

BPOLIST.com is a brandable Premium Domain Name which can be developed as a new web site, used as a useful link to your present web site or obtained so that your competitors don't make use of it.

Thank you for your consideration.

The only way you can set a reserve for an auction at Sedo without getting an offer is to list it in the "Premium Auction" at GreatDomains.com.

If you get an offer and then push to auction, the offer acts as the reserve price and you can't change it.

Disclose Reserve Price?

Can you tell me if I am correct with the following?
Right now in Sedo Domain Management I have "Make an Offer" and "Minimum Offer" of $295.
1.
Am I correct that if someone makes an offer below my "Minimum Offer" of
$295 of let's say $100, the Auction does not begin until and unless I push it to Auction and then if I do push it to Auction, the $100 becomes the Reserve?
2.
Am I correct that if someone makes an offer at or above my "Minimum Offer" of $ 295 of let's say $300, the Auction begins immediately because the Reserve was met and the final bid could be higher?
3.
Would it be a good idea to tell End Users in my E-Mail that the Reserve is $295?
or
Should I let them bid and tell them after they bid too low?

If you set a minimum offer, Sedo won't let the user make an offer below that amount.

In your case, if someone made an offer for $100, Sedo would tell that user something like "sorry your offer is too low. The seller is not accepting offers below $295."

Also, if someone makes an offer above your minimum offer, the same thing happens... you have the choice to make a counter offer, or send it to auction. It is not done automatically.

The only way other than GreatDomains to get your domain into an auction at Sedo with a reserve price is to click the button to push it to auction, and the reserve will always be the same as the offer you got that caused you to push it.
