.tv SEDO auction - Action

So far I've managed to get eight names in SEDO today. Something I put down to offering annoyingly low initial bid prices (I think the technical term is 'loss-leaders' - but what do I know).

I would advise that if anyone seriously wants to get any of their names in the sedo auction today then it might be worth their while moving very swiftly to reduce their prices. I reduced mine twice and got results.

I have seen some great names that I would love to start off but the reality is that, like everyone, unless I can feel there is a chance I might get a bargain, I won't rush in too quickly.

Your strategy is very Ballsy, and that is the advice everyone always gives you.
Lower Bids produce more results.

I would have had ten - but someone put a bid in for oral last night (too early) so I countered with a $25000, thinking they would immediately cancel, and asked them to try again today.

Didn't happen

So, I can now NOT offer that name at auction as I wait for the seven days to elapse.

^ Good advice, IMHO ... I see people very recently registering .TV's for Low $Xx and immediately putting them in auction with ridiculous / pie-in-the-sky $X,xxx / $XX,xxx "Reserve prices"; this is a major credibility issue for fellow auctioners and enthusiasts as well, in my view.

I understand the rationale for low reserves is to generate bidding interest & buzz at a time when there are more eyeballs looking at SEDO .TV domains. However, I believe domains without fixed prices no longer qualify for 10% commissions - minimum $50. Thus, a domainer-driven auction with low reserves entails some risk that you might only receive the minimum bid.

I also saw a post on this recently in the #1 .TV Marketplace© ... once there is an active auction min. bid, say $60, and one is subject to the Sedo minimum $50 commission; is it then possible to remove it from auction or otherwise negotiate sale outside of Sedo? :gl:
