School & Piercings

Hello all,

At the beginning of the summer holidays I got my eyebrow pierced hoping that it would be healed by the time I go back to school, but I always knew it wouldn't be.

I know that school won't be very happy about this, however I was wondering if they would mine as much if I buy a see through retainer bar so it's not as obvious.

What do you think about this - I need a bit of help.

Hm, I don't know. My school doesn't care about piercings. We got like students with 1 inch plugs in their ears. But I go to school in america, which means they don't care about their students.

That is the policy on the school site, You only need to look at the small highlighted section, which doesn't state what is unauthrosied so I should be alrite right??

No.. We don't go back to the 6th September so I never got a chance to before I decided...

the only people who can answer your question ios your school as different schools have different rules.

I should imagine that for things such as PE they will require you to at least put a plaster over it so that it cannot catch on anything.

Yeah, Thanks peter.. Some people say I will like get suspended and I'm not sure if that's even possible.

it is possible but I should imagine they would have to ask you to remove it and they could suspend you if you refused but that should really be a last resort for the school.

Your best bet would be to ask your form tutor as soon as you go in, if at all possible try and make it look as discrete as possible.

Wow, that's pretty harsh I don't think schools should be able to do things like that. I don't want to ask my tutor becuase she is the type who would dob me in to hawskahw:p

looks like i'm never going to your school.

Most schools will make you put a bandaid over it in sport.
they'll probably make you remove it.

Is a bandaid a plaster?

If you don't want to go to your tutor, go to the medical room or if you school has mentoring staff things like that, i guess those are the next easiest people to ask.
I can't really see a problem with it, but i wouldn't quote the rules on them, school staff have an answer for everything.

Yeah,
1) A retainer (see thro one) should be ok hopefully.
2) It doesn't state in the policy on the website what piercings are unauthorised or ever authorised.

Where could I stand.. I'n not taking it out permananelty for 2 years off ball**** teaching.

Buy some fake crooked teeth at the novelty store.. everytime you see a school official, grin. They'll be so distracted they won't notice the piercing.

Or take the piercing out when you're at school.
