Age of site (months): 2+ Years

Monthly revenue: $400

Background:AdminFusion is a community for forum administrators. It started in September 2005 as strictly a forum but has now grown to include many custom resources and tools found nowhere else. Today it is the second largest forum of its kind on the internet.

In January 2006, PostFusion was released as a special tool for AdminFusion. PostFusion is an automated forum post exchanging system, and there is nothing like it anywhere else. PostFusion was developed 100% in-house. It is a very popular feature of AdminFusion and has a lot of potential. Since its release less than 2 years ago, PostFusion has exchanged over 75,000 posts among nearly 1,000 forums. PostFusion runs itself. It requires little to no maintenance and the users drive everything.

During the summer of 2006, AdminFusion and Best-Board (another large forum admin community) participated in a merger. Shortly thereafter, AdminFusion acquired yet another forum admin community, WhichBB. During the few months following these mergers, numbers grew astronomically. During the fall of 2006, we held an anniversary contest with $2,500 in prizes.

A forum demo and comparison system was released early in 2007. This allows visitors to generate their own charts and tables comparing the features of forum software available today. Users are also able to access functional demos of this software. The system includes information and demos for 3 paid software solutions – vBulletin, Invision Power Board, and WhichBB. Partnerships have been arranged with these companies, and they have granted AdminFusion lifetime licenses to be used only for this demo system.

vBSEO was installed in the summer of 2007 and is also included in the sale. There are many other features at AdminFusion. A custom front page, blog-like interface has been created. The websites also owns and shares many exclusive forum skins, articles, interviews, and tutorials. The community at AdminFusion is extremely tight-knit. Many members joined when it was founded 2 years ago and still actively post today. There are 25 members with more than 1,000 posts and over 20 current paid supporters.

Traffic: http://www.adminfusion.com/sale/ - traffic screenshots

We are listed on Wikipedia here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_Internet_forum_software

We have spent less than $100 all time on paid promotion. All traffic is viral and organic. With the right promotion campaign, traffic would be extremely easy to increase. That said, traffic will remain stable with absolutely no promotion. It has done so for over a year.

Revenue details:

$350 per Month from Private Advertisers
$10 per Month from Donations
$40 per Month from CPC and Affiliates
$400 per Month Total

As you can see, the majority of revenue comes from private advertisers. It’s important to note that we do not actively seek out advertisers. Instead, they find us and inquire themselves. With only a little bit of effort put forth looking for advertisers, revenue could easily be increased to $500+ per month. Otherwise, current revenue is very stable. These numbers have held constant for well over 1 year. Screenshots are difficult to provide as the vast majority of revenue is received via PayPal, thus there are no statistics to display. If you need more information, let us know, and we will get it to you. We do have spreadsheets detailing all transactions dating back to summer 2006.

Other Details
There is much potential for this AMAZING SITE AND FORUM with a nice history. It is clearly one of the biggest players in the forum administration arena on the web both in size, member base, and quality content. I think there is plenty of traffic to be gained from SEO work, but this is not something I know how to do (outside of the vbSEO). The staff (of around 10-15 moderators, super mods, and admin) is absolutely amazing and very much dedicated.

The current staff of administrators and moderators will remain on board if you so choose in order to help with the transition. The current owners (Lee and Ryan) will stay 1-2 weeks after the purchase, again if you so choose and may or may not stay after the transition is complete. The current developer, LarryB, will be available for work at a price to be determined by him and the new owner. The current custom tools (ie: PostFusion and the Demo System) are stable and require little to no maintenance. Although, it is recommended that the new owner does have basic PHP and MySQL knowledge or knows somebody who does.

Expenses: Your main expense will be hosting. AdminFusion will be stable on a simple VPS at no more than $50/month. We have previously spent nearly $10,000 on custom development, but you are fortunate enough to inherit this with the sale!

Licenses and Content:
- Owned vBulletin INCLUDED ($160 value)
- vbSEO license Owned ($149 value)
- Custom Design in Blue and Red Variations ($800 value)
- Complimentary Demo Licenses Used for Custom Demo System: vBulletin, Invision Power Board, and WowBB
- 31 Exclusive Articles, Interviews, and Tutorials
- 48 Exclusive vBulletin and phpBB Skins - tremendous value!
- Unique Tools Developed In-House INCLUDING: PostFusion (275+ Hours of Development - $6,875), Demo and Comparison System (35+ Hours of Development - $875), Forum Reviewer Stars and Badges (10+ Hours of Development - $250), Plus Many Other Various Customizations and Features!

Would it be safe to say you're not willing to part with this site for at least 20k? (based on your BIN price?)

I have a question about the postfusion software. How integrated is it into Vbulletin? Would I be able to run postfusion WITHOUT the VB?

The reserve is not going to be revealed, along with any hints

The way that PostFusion is set up now, it will only run on a vBulletin forum. We didn't develop it for multiple forums when we use vB, of course. Now, that said, the user-side script and tracking portion of it is software independent. All that depends on vBulletin is the front end that you see at AdminFusion.

This could, of course, be moved over to other software. I'm not sure how much work this would entail, so I'm going to ask our developer and get back to you on that.

If you are thinking about moving all of AdminFusion over to new software, then I know that you are talking about a good bit of work. As we've created other tools and modifications that would also need special attention.

EDIT: Talked to our developer:

Ok, I just had a chat with our developer regarding moving PostFusion away from vBulletin and to other software. It could be done, but it would require a lot of work. It would be strongly recommended to leave AF on vBulletin.
