After a firestorm of criticism, News. Corp. said Monday that it has canceled the O.J. Simpson book and TV special "If I Did It."
"I and senior management agree with the American public that this was an ill-considered project," said Rupert Murdoch, News Corp. chairman. "We are sorry for any pain that this has caused the families of Ron Goldman and Nicole Brown Simpson."

This is why I still have respect for Murdoch and, as you said, the people were heard loud and clear in this one. Though I almost wish it had shown and that as some suggested, it could have incriminated him on some charges not covered in his trial or something along those lines. (I caught the tail end of the segment, but some thought it possible apparently.)

Call me cynical, but I'm sure the fact Fox stations were opting out of airing the special played a big part in the decision. Still, that wouldn't have happened if people hadn't complained.
