Yeah, the only 2 that you may be able to develop are RugbyBasics and Rugby101

They dont wear helmets in rugby, as Johname mentioned, scrum caps are worn by the forwards and protective caps are worn by some of the backs. They are know as either just "head gear" or "head gaurds"

I dont see any value in these names though

Good luck

Actually they do wear helmets.

There is even an international standard by the IRB(International Rugby Board) that sets out their dimensions and charactristics.

Nike and Adidas both make rugby helmets as do mostly english companies like Steeden,Gilbert,CCC and Canterbury. They are even sold at Amazon (not really a surprise).

Rugby as a sport is growing in North America and has been recently reintroduced as an olympic sport. It is likely that mandatory helmet rules will be implemented in North America due to the growing number of injuries related to the sport.

Each helmet retails between $25 - $165 US.
I do appreciate the comments so far. I know that protective gear in rugby is frowned upon by the "tough guys", that is similar to the experience of hockey here.

Are there any other appraisals?

appraisal

Hello there.

I live in the U.K. and I've never seen a rugby player wearing a helmet. There are a lot of American football teams springing up here, and they do of course wear helmets.

Regards

ralph.

Its not a helmet anywhere in the world except the US then, I have followed rugby for 25 years and been to 4 world cups, I know my rugby (check my avatar) - Ask anyone person that follows rugby from Aus, New Zealand, South Africa, and anywhere in Europe and see what thtey say when you say "rugby helmet"

A helmet to me implies a hard helmet, a scum cap or headgear is is a soft material cap, unlike the helmets worn in the NFL.

I did enjoy Ngwenya's try against my beloved Habana in the last world cup though

waste of money unless you got each domain for $.99 (in this case $7.99 x5 and .99 x1 = $40.94) You could have bought 1 aged domain, did some development and made this amount in adsense maybe in 6 months....I have never seen a rugby helmet as well and if they do maybe they dont need to be on the field ;)

I wouldn't even begin to know where Ngwenya is, lol.

I think there's a difference in language use here. In North America I believe we would use the term "helmet" to describe protective headgear be it hard or soft material. Initially football helmets were soft and made of leather. "Headguard" might catch on here although it would predominantly be used in England/Wales/Australia.

Rugby Headguard is searched about a 1000 times/month.
Rugby Helmet roughly half that.

As I said I suspect that due to the litigiousness of North Americans some type of headgear will be made mandatory here, if only to cover the various leagues asses. This reminds me of the hockey helmet debate of some 20-25 years ago, which to be fair is the only truely manly sport in the world today. :hehe: In fact it's like certain elements of football and rugby but amplified by the 30 mile per hour speed and slippery banana peel-like aspects of the ice, which the pools of blood only make slipperier.

Oops, did I say manly?

Thanks for your appraisals.B-)

OK, time for an Aussie to wade into things here!

There is no such thing as a rugby helmet. If some of you misguided folk in North America decide you want to call headgear a helmet, then so be it. Just because they wear helmets in American football, dose not mean everyone else who plays football such as rugby league, union, AFL etc are going to.

The chances of three or four misguided souls rushing out to buy a helmet to play rugby, on your website, is 0%.

The domains are worth nothing, which is why they were available!

I'm from New Zealand, live in Australia and my wife is from South Africa. I also spent a few years living in England. All big rugby countries.
I played rugby for 10 years, have been to international rugby matches in NZ, Aussie, England, Ireland and France and are yet to see a rugby helmet.

Sorry dude...

The international rugby community is unanimous on the verdict, there is no rugby helmets, time to move on and reg something useful like indoorfireworks.com or similar!
