Rugby Mascot logo ($40 Via Paypal)

Hi All,

I am looking for a kind of Cartoon Mascot for a new website business that I am about to start work on!

What I am looking for is a Charachter of a young boy who is learning to play rugby so in shorts and a Rugby Shirt if possible with football boots and doing something with a rugby ball IE Running with it, passing it etc.

I have included a sample of one below that I like the style of but I would like him in shorts with his feet smaller in football or rugby boots. Please don't follow this charachter exactly, be creative with what you can do!

It would also help if it is possible to make it easy to change the charachters expression and stance as he is going to be used all over the site.

Winner will be as soon as I find the one that jumps out and smacks me around the head shouting 'I'm the right one'!

I would like this as a Vector graphic so it can be resized without problems.

Whew! This took a long time. I know it isnt perfect, but I traced everything out in Flash so it is 100% vector. (well, the preview isnt vector, but the real file is) What do you think?

Looking good but can we get the roseyness back in his cheeks and the graident in his hair.

Also have you been able to do the text as well?

I made a few changes.

When I tried to add rosiness back into his cheeks, it kinda looked like he had zits, so I didnt do much there.

I can do the text, but would have to have a specific size. Im not good at doing text in Flash and to get it over to illustrator, I would have to rasterize the rugby player. I have been playing with it for a while to get it, and am not having much luck.

Well, I finally got this converted over to Illustrator. It is in vector format. The example you posted isnt showing up, and I cant remember what the text looked like.

Angele803 - Looking good, are the fonts vector also? I don't like the fonts that you have used and would want them to be as close to the original design as possible! In fact have a play with the fonts and see what you can come up with! We really like what you have done with the Mascot, It looks sharper!

I know the competition is over, but $80 is *WAY TOO HIGH* for a simple job like live tracing on illustrator

Jaynesh, I dont mean for this to sound rude, I just want to clarify that I didnt just use the "live trace" button in illustrator. I used flash to manually trace out everything, then converted it to illustrator. I am fine with the $40 prize though. Hmm...maybe I should have used the live trace feature...it might have saved some time! lol!

angele803, congrats on your win its does not really matter what method you used, the end result was still good.

im just saying that D t R a X wanted $80 for something which was not his own work and for something which just needed to convert a image to vector and his request ( $80 ) was way too high. thats all :P

I am more than happy with the final image and the price paid was resonable but maybe a little low as I didn't really understand what went into it when I made the request.

I thought Dtrax was a little out of order trying to pass off clipart as custom artwork but I am sure you will always get one or 2 people like that on these kinds of sites.

I actually think that he put the request in for more money as a stumbling block as he couldn't do what I asked him to do with those images whilst I thought he had created them.

Having said that the outcome was succesfull, Thank you all for your help and I will be back in the future with more work I am sure!
