Roughly how much traffic on a "search term" should you look for in domain?

I'm changing strategies I think. I want to purchase domains with high "exact name" searches. Then park it and collect. What's a rough number of searches I should look for to be successful? What's your minimum? And per 1000 impressions how much revenu does that equate to usually?

Like I found one that is un-sellable but generates 8,100 exact name search impressions. Should I jump on that or should I look for higher? The domain is something families search for when going on vacation. So the ads would be hotels in "xCity" and etc. So it should get a high click rate.

If this pans out my goal is to get 100 high volume search term domains and profit 100 bucks a month x 100 domains equals good supplemental money.

Thanks

High search volume doesn't mean high traffic to your domain. It only means that people are searching for the term in google, but, that won't lead them to your parked domain.

exact search numbers do not equal actual amount of visitors to a domain using those keyword terms.

Can you explain why that is the case? For instance, if I have a domain called hotelsinsandiego.com and host it myself and someone searches "hotels in San Diego" my site would probably show first and at the very least on the first page. I am 100% correct about this as my experience proves this to me. Are parked pages handled differently than domains I host myself or something?

i concur

What?! It's the exact opposite of effort. You park a domain and never lift a finger again. How is that effort?

You still made a claim but failed to back it up. If your domain is on the first page of google headed with the users exact search term it will get clicked on. How does this not equal revenue???

Parked domains do not get entered into Google's search database.

What? Then why would anyone park? How does a parked page get traffic then?

People park for the revenue they can achieve from parking. Parked domains get traffic from type-ins and backlinks

Of course, parked domains are only for type-in traffics..

You should imagine that SEO is too hard, people are not able to rank keywords doing quality works as well, how a parked domain get traffic and ranking?

In all honesty man it sound slike domaining may not be your thing. Seems your in it for short term and domainaing is long term. High eaxt search results and having the EMD does NOT = page 1 of Google.

Either slow down read the main stickies on Namepros or take all the domains you have, auction them off on eBay and look for something else.

The first five words in your OP say a lot. Respectfully, you are new to domaining and you can't really have a strategy until you understand the business. When you learn the business you will identify the areas that interest you and where you might be best placed to find opportunity. Then you can define your strategy.

I don't want to teach you to suck eggs but it does appear you are bouncing around when you should be a sponge.
