I think it would look nicer if you add some animation (preferably flash) to it. Otherwise this design is good to go.

It's nice as far as splash-pages go, but if my host had a splash page, they wouldn't be my host for long.

Unless it's a portal or you need a plugin to view the site, I'd scrap it because they're useless and annoying.
