#Resolved. Ongoing Bad Experience with Cosmotown!

I have a couple of expired domains still within the grace period. I tried to unlock the domains to transfer out, but the Cosmotown system says "please select a domain that's not expired".

This wasn't the case previously as one could unlock expired domains by oneself and get out.
Apparently, the support is the only one able to do the unlock now. Don't know why it was set up this way.

But if they want it that way, then support should be quick/fast.

So I contacted Cosmotown support and 2 days after, No replies. Few days left for some domains before grace period is over. And I am not renewing at Cosmotown! Yet, Cosmotown doesn't consider it important to respond to my support ticket and unlock the domains quickly, since they made it impossible for me to do it myself!

It sounds like Cosmotown’s support process is really frustrating, especially with the time-sensitive situation. I’d suggest trying to follow up on your support ticket with a polite but urgent request. If you’re nearing the end of the grace period, it might be worth trying their live chat (if available) or even reaching out on social media for quicker responses. Hopefully, they’ll unlock the domains before the grace period expires

Support finally responded after 48hrs.
Reason: "Due to an increased volume of requests, our response time is currently longer than usual..."

If you know your support isn't readily available, then update your platform so someone can effect these Changes (unlocking expired domains) without needing to contact your support.

You can file a complaint with ICANN.

And please stick to the registrars that have proven themselves. Personally, my nervous system and my time are worth much more than a $0.10 discount. No need for adventure.

i won't switch to these new jack registrars, just so they can build inventory off my duckies.

they all ad-up here on np, with coupons and discounts.

Dealing with ongoing issues can be really frustrating! Have you tried reaching out to their support team for a resolution? Documenting everything might help if you need to escalate the matter.

I've never seen a company with such slow service—Cosmotown is the only one. If you search on X, you'll find plenty of complaints about them! I strongly recommend that you never choose this company again.

I recently sent two emails last week to the customer service account, asking if the COM23 promo code was still live, as it didn't work when trying to register a .com as a new customer.
No answer so far.
