You need to remember one thing. You will get for what you pay. If I am getting more than a dedicated server for a few $$, personally, I wouldn't go for that.

A few things that might be of help and guide to you:

1. You get what you pay for. The word "overselling" came about for good reason, and not a very good one.

2. There are however, "free" hosts that provide ad-free hosting (ads are just in the control panel of the admin, etc.), so the offer you're seeing may fit in between and you might get lucky.

3. Don't count on #2, though.

Hope that helps. ;)

I know a few people like this on ebay selling unlimited and un metered reseller hosting accounts. I recently found out by going through with one for the fun of it to see how it was done, and the one i came across was like a affiliate program. They cover the billing, they cover account set up, All you get is a web site where all billing goes to them and you get percentage of what is made or flat fee of like $10 - $30 a sign up.

There are some that also oversell. But in my opinion if you are getting unlimited reseller account, I would think the server you would get placed on would not be as secured since is un metered and would experience allot of downfall in server uptime.

What I was telling is when you get a few TB or a few hundred GB of disk space in the shared plan for $5 or $7, which is more than that you get from a dedicated server, don't fall into that.

It is not. You will find a lot of similar offers if you have a quick look. It is massive overselling.
But all that is given on the front page can be indirectly taken away in the Term of Service. So it is more a business gimmick.

It is a business gimmick.
They start with ridiculously low prices hoping to attract customers.
Once the customer is settled comfortably with the host, they slowly start raising the prices.

But the problem is they attract too many customers in the beginning.More than which their server can support. So there is no question of the customer settling with that host.

Generally such severs experience problems and shut down soon.

If the customers is experienced, he understands where the marketing gimmick is. Read SLA and AUP before signing up.

Thats right. But every day there will be some newbies coming here looking for new hosts and they will be attracted to these huge offers. They will understand things slowly, but by that time, there will be more newbies.
So it will go in a circle.

all the ones i can think of normally end up doing a runner leaving their customers hanging, sometimes they last a few months sometimes 6-12 months

personally i dont think they are worth the head ache of waking up on morning and finding all your sites down with no way to contact them etc..
