The ICA wants you guys to Speak Up About ICANN!

Request for Public Comments and Dialogue on ICANN's Performance
8 May 2007

As part of an ongoing interest in continuous improvement, ICANN is seeking community feedback about its performance.

All responses are welcome. Targeted comments regarding several areas of performance, which have been drawn from the ICANN Strategic Plan, are of particular interest:
Is ICANN becoming more transparent, accessible and accountable? What improvements have been observed and what still needs to be done?
Has ICANN improved its operational performance? What improvements have been observed and what still needs to be done?
Has ICANN improved its performance in the development of Policy? What improvements have been observed and what still needs to be done?
Has ICANN increased international participation? What improvements have been observed and what still needs to be done?
Have there been improvements in participation and in efficiency of the ICANN multi-stakeholder model? What more needs to be done?
What plans and actions have been observed that position ICANN for more comprehensive transition of the technical coordination of the Internet’s system of unique identifiers. What more needs to be done?
What improvements have been made in dispute resolution and the application of fairness and equity in the management of complaints and other mechanisms of review that are available? These include the work of the reconsideration committee, the Ombudsman and independent review.
Comments will be received at http://forum.icann.org/lists/performance-2007/ until June 5, 2007 and should be sent to: [email protected].

A discussion will also take place on ICANN's Blog <http://blog.icann.org <http://blog.icann.org/> > commencing today. ICANN's public participation site <http://public.icann.org <http://public.icann.org/> > will also serve as a tool for participation in this dialogue.

I'm not sure too many people will be issuing ICANN much praise these days, especially considering their handling of the RF situation.

I certainly will not be dialogue with the ICA until you address people's concerns in the other thread.

Your conduct and the avoidance to answer direct questions (including the suspicion of multiple sign ups) is damaging the ICA greatly. You already have a major member who does things that you claim is against your agenda, are you another ort is lying/avoiding the answering questions a part of your agenda also?

Fonzie - That's the point - LET THEM KNOW HOW YOU FEEL.

Ok so you obviously have something to hide as you quite clearly do not want to answer people's genuine concerns. Do not expect any serious domainer to work with you until you clean your house out and no longer have things to hide (nor need to use the tactic of multiple sign ups to get people to stand up for you).

Interesting. So anyway - we're going to make hay out of the ICANN Response - PLEASE SUBMIT COMMENT TO THEM.

I read the other post, and I think that before posting on NP more, you should address that multiple sign-up matter. Just for the respect of members here.

Seconded.
I read the other thread and I am now seeing all the posts by Jude/ICA as advertising and self-promotion.
An organization that wants to speak on behalf of domainers needs to be transparent and accountable itself, their leaders should be upfront, and we still have no answer about the multiple registration which is shady tactics IMO.
I am not sure if Jude represents the whole of ICA or himself - anyway he managed to spoil the credibility of ICA in just a couple posts.
As someone said earlier, an organization is only as good as its leadership.

I will be taking a bite at ICANN shortly, however as a domainer I don't want ICA to exploit our voices for their own purpose. At present I am not convinced the organization is in a position to defend our interests.
