Type of Contest : Template Design

Prize : $100 (Paypal)

Contest End Date & Time : Wednesday, November 22nd; 6 PM GMT

Size Requirements : To fit in 1024 Pixel width
Based on the newest Statistics throughout all my Websites and projects, the ammount of people using displays with less than 1024 x 768 pixel has gone down to less than two percent.

Color Requirements : No special requirement
The color pattern should be compatible to the Logo.

General Requirements :

Should you need any different file type or size, just let me know.

Purpose:
This is to be the landingpage for a complete domain market.
There will be a lot of aditional information on all kinds of internal and external links. Many of the external links will be stand alone projects belonging to Villadominio and will basicaly be using the same template, although there may be certain changes for each project.

Advertisement
Advertisement in form of banners should be taken into consideration.
Side banners will be 125 x 60 pixel. A main banner 468 x 60 should find a position in the head of the site.

Menu
The main menu will consist of about 5 or 6 main points and some of these will also have a submenu (2nd level). There is no plan for a third menu level, since we want the navigation to be very simple and straightforward.

An additional one level menu should be included for links to such things as contactform, about us, terms of use, newsletter and similar.

Login
The template should have a login field.

Technical
The template should be valid XHTML 1.1 (Strict)
Table free layout
All design and formatting elements are to be outsourced in a CSS file.
No kind of javascript or similar please.

Take a look at www.webrunde.eu
This is the basic css file to be used. Download it and use it as your starting base. Please keep to the semantic structure and category names used in that file.

The text "domain vilage" in the logo, is where the changing name for the standalone projects will be entered. You might want to keep this into consideration while designing the menu. I still need to decide, what text will appear replacing "domain village" on the main landing sight.

The first 4 days are over, 1 day was lost before the contest was approved, 1 further day was lost due to NamePros being down. So now we only have 3 days left.

After a very nice logo contest, I find it a little strange that there has been no movement in the template contest yet.

Feel free to present your own ideas.
Just look at the requirements, and remember the kind of serios subject the site will be handling. We like fresh, clear and straightforward designs and navigation structure.

Please read the requirements and present something to suit it.
This seems to be something standard that you are trying to modify for me. Nothing against that, but please present a complete layout. Right now there is no kind of concept behind it to meet the elements required.

I can't give any individual feedback unless I see something more or less complete.

Well, this contest is closing in a couple of hours without a winner and without even one entry matching the basics of the requirements.

I even asked Matt what he thinks, why there is no interest in this contest.
He seems not to know either, since I got no reply.

Can one of you tell me what the reason is?
Should I start a new contest changing the requirements?
Perhaps just the PSD Layout and I do the coding myself?

I would be grateful for your coments.

i agree that maybe if you just ask for the psd layout, you would get more responses, since this forum is mostly about design, and it is a subcategory of the web development forum, where there would be more people that code pages into CSS and would be able to help you.

The reason is, I can't code.
The requirements are fine.
Just a .PSD layout would be a godsend, to me anyway.

I have just started the new contest. (Waiting for Matt to approve it)

Since it is basically the same as this one, only without the coding, you can just get started already. The contest is to finish on Sunday 6 PM (GMT).

By the way, I left the prize at $100

So, I wish you all good luck and expect some nice jobs.
