[req-logo] Logo for "hacker convention" / computer security convention
Type of Contest : LOGO Design
Prize : $40.00 paypal - OR free admission to convention ($100 value)
Contest End Date & Time : October 19th @ 7PM Central Time
Size Requirements : big, and able to scale to any size. This will appear on the website and may also appear on t-shirts
Color Requirements : I'm open to colors. I like blues, browns, greens. This will be on a black background and the shirts will be black.
General Requirements :
This logo is for RootFest, my hacker / computer security convention. It was first held in 1999 and 2000, and is returning for 2012. It is held in the Minneapolis, Minnesota area and features speeches by prominent researchers in the computer security field, a hacking contest, and other events.
If you are not familiar with a computer security / hacker convention, please see DefCon (the premier hacker convention), LayerOne, or DerbyCon for ideas on the type of event this is.
I am open to logo ideas here. The logo should either say RootFest 2012 or RootFest 3. I would like a "hacker" style logo. Since this is a "resurrection" of my conference, possible theme ideas might be a phoenix rising from the ashes, or an undead theme, or a zombie theme. Feel free to use your imagination here. It would be a plus if the psd file kept all of the layers so I can easily separate the "RootFest 2012" text from the rest of it.
RootFest is a unique convention, and the logo must be unique as well. No stock art, and I don't want a reproduction of other conventions' artwork.
I will be participating throughout the contest to provide feedback.
Additional Information : Please note: I am not the only person choosing the winning logo, I may need up to 24 hours after the contest deadline to select a winner.
Also, if I receive some great logos, I might choose one for the website and one for the t-shirts. If this is the case, the 2nd prize will be $20 or free admission to the convention.
