Type of contest: Logo design

I am in the process of starting a used boat dealership. The majority of boats we sell are cruisers and speed boats in the 16 to 35 foot range and a few small sail boats.

Logo will be used on all stationary, advertisements and will be used in and/or as the header on the basic 1 column website I will create.

This company is located in Montreal, Quebec. As such, the logo must display both the english and french word for boat. Thus the logo must have both: Bateaux West-Island and West-Island Boats.

As you can see West-island is repeated with Bateaux on the left and Boats on the right. You can implement this however you want. I would only like West-Island appearing once.

Rough example. Structure it however you believe it would look nice.

Contest end date: 8th February

Prize: $100 by paypal. 550NP$ to 2nd place (added FEB 3rd)

Size requirements: Not too tall since it will be used within or as the header of the website. I welcome your creative input here.

Colors: Since this is a boating website I think blue would be nice. However you can feel free to use any color you believe will make it nice. Maybe implementing some waves from the boats wake. Maybe have the name kind of riding the wave.


MORE INFO: I welcome your creative input. The site will most likely be built around the logo as we think it is the most important element. I think having a cartoon looking boat within the logo may be pretty cool looking. The text could be resting on it or something. These guidelines do not need to be completely following. All I ask is that: Bateaux West-Island Boats appears.

Nice designs. Looks wise I like number 2 alot. However since the vast majority of the boats are not sailboats I would opt for number 1. If you can modify number 1 a bit and make it a smaller boat I would like that alot more.

I like the text from number 1 the most. Also, could you please capitalize the B in Boats.

Some really nice designs.

Gooddesigner. I really like the style of it but not 100% sure of the boat. The text is gorgeous. Wondering how it could look with the water extended maybe a bit also.

At the moment It would be very close between Gooddesigner and JedK. I absolutely love JedK's boat and the text used by Goodesigner.

Also, while it is not much, I am adding a second place prize of 550 NP$

You know what. I think the reason why I love C's text is because it is thicker and a bit darker. Mind making the font a bit thicker?

Sure thing. Here are some different variations with thicker text and various fonts (and colored water on one).

If it's an issue of font size or thickness I can work with you until you are happy with it.

Blairwitchii. Nice designs but the boats are too big.

When it comes to that style I think there are more than enough entries. New entries try something a little different.
