discuss Report Domains Sold then DEVELOPED.

I thought this would be an interesting and worthwhile thread to start that compliments the "completed domain sales" thread.

"Developed" is the key word & difference.
___________________________________________________________________________________

We buy and sell domain names everyday, but much of those domains don't end up being used or developed by an end-user. I guess they just keep circulating: sold again, parked, dropped and registered again etc...

So I think when a domainer chooses a name that an end-user finds suitable to be developed or used for a brand; it should be something we strive for and even celebrate. When we sell a name.. shouldn't we want to know it will be put to good use..Well at-least the names you really put a high value on?

We may encourage and even help each other to buy/reg better names...And it may be fun.

When I visit sites like brand bucket and see names purchased that now represent real businesses; it's really exciting and encouraging(Even some of my own names). I personally want to do more than report completed domain sales(Oh I love that...don't get me wrong...I could use some sales right now lol) But, I believe domaining is much more than selling a name... it's the foundation of a business, the identity, a apart of the brand, and so on. I sure would love to have a portfolio full of domain name sales that represent actual business.

___________________________________________________________________________________
Anyway, lets get the party started!!!!

  1. List the name
  2. Year it sold
  3. what it is being used for

Well let me start:

1. ClassBook.org: My first end-user sale in domaining (2013)
Classbook is basically a organization that helps to prepare children and young people for the dangers in real social networks.

2. BoothOne.com: A classic Chicago restaurant being re-introduced in the heart of the Gold Coast neighborhood from founder Rich Melman. Drawing inspiration from the legendary restaurant at the former Ambassador East Hotel, Booth One will be a modern American restaurant with a vibrant, all-day dining scene. (2017)

3. ClassTag.com: ClassTag unites educators and families as partners in every child's success. One platform makes that collaboration simple and joyful. (2015)

4. Tripaly.com: Tripaly is a subscription travel service/ mobile-app. (2016)..

A few more with Coming soon pages(I'll keep an eye and update)....

Sometimes it's right that one man's trash is another man's gold :xf.smile:
I need to take this saying to heart, because alot of the names people tell me to drop have been registered again and some developed. Some names I dropped on my own accord. But it's all learning and following my gut.

My most recent sale that has been developed is GlancePay.com

Then it comes to brandable names I think you have to trust your own guts and be patient.

That`s nice.

I always question those high reported sales yet the domain never developed.

Wow, amazing name! Hope you got a good deal/sale

I believe investors should be skeptical of five figure sales in new or alternative extensions when the domain is never developed into a real business. FYI it should not take more than 4-6 months to get something launched. If they were looking for a domain for a business, they already had plans on how to develop it.

Impressive! After a sale... this is the next best thing.
Portfolio-wise it may be even better than just having a sale.
