While reading through the article. I thought about how the fruits and vegetables were grown - manure, birds eating the seeds and then defacting them into soil(btw - the birds did this with my romaine lettuce and it grew under my jasmine tree instead) and other things that animals contribute to growing fruits and vegetables. I wonder if they ever think that far. Or is it just a natural process of growing food to them. You know animals still being used to fertilize and growing of the food.

I've wondered stuff similar to that also, I mean its all apart of "the circle of life" or whatever you'd like to name it. Animals hunt, eat, and even use parts of other deceased animals for their survival. I prefer to look at it from that point of view, if we're all just animals why not use whats been provided, with a side of vegetables of course:).

Here is another interesting lifestyle. I thought this was just a joke that I saw in a movie but I guess if you're vegan you can take a step further and not eat anything but fruit...

From the movie Notting Hill (fav. movie quote :) )

Keziah: No thanks, I'm a fruitarian.

Max: I didn't realize that.

William: And, ahm: what exactly is a fruitarian?

Keziah: We believe that fruits and vegetables have feeling so we think cooking is cruel. We only eat things that have actually fallen off a tree or bush - that are, in fact, dead already.

William: Right. Right. Interesting stuff. So, these carrots...

Keziah: Have been murdered, yes.

William: Murdered? Poor carrots. How beastly!

Although I am definitely not a vegan and eat meat very regularly I definitely do not believe that we are "all just animals". I believe it is this kind of thinking and brainwashing that leads to all sorts of excuses in society. Although you have your right of opinion on this I would just like to point out that there are many that disagree with this statement.

Regards.

Its part of the foodchain, I don't care what people believe in, i'll respect you for it but this would be going to far, i was watching a TV show last night and they brought this actually up and said how vegans only want to date vegans aswell now.
the real sad thing is you can get pretty sick without the foods they miss out on, no matter how many things you use to try replace it.

Haha sorry Aussie I guess I should have put [/sarcasm] around that. [Serious]I honestly am the exact opposite of the whole humans=animals thinking. Personally I believe God created us above the animals but with a clear responsibility to watch over what he created. Lets just call it good stewardship. This whole post was a saracastic jibe at that way of thinking and no less.[/Serious]

No problem, I'm sorry I didn't interpret the sarcasm. I agree exactly with you in that I believe God has created us but we are to be good stewards, now allowed to eat meat but being responsible and looking after what we have been entrusted with.

I'm a meat graveyard and proud of it!

I think being a Vegan doesn't make much sense, it's Animal Nature to eat other Animals. Why else do you think the Humans have a few sharp teeth? Not for cutting meat i guess. [/sarcasm]

Right and back during the nomadic ages, before humans actually learnt to grow things, they were basically carnivores. Its only later that they learnt to eat and finally grow veggies including shrubs and roots, thus making us omnivores.
So in a way, God wanted us to devour other animals!
