Registrar or Expired domains?

I found a domain available at several
registrars, yet doing some looking as to
why it's available in the first place, I came
across it at Expireddomains in an auction that
doesn't end until Oct.
So with all the registrars I've checked, showing it as available to reg...
what can I do? If I reg it will it "somehow" be cancelled and my money
refunded, or is it some glitch that will allow be to reg it...and keep it?

I don't see how they can cancel it. Their fault for not renewing.

Well I did reg it with a good registrar, and an hour and a half later I get this
"we're sorry, this domain is not available for registration" refund issued!
of course, still waiting on the refund.
But why does it show available at more than 4 registrars if it's not?
I don't get it...and I'm not very happy about it either
