not sure about othr registrars, hence this thread. so feel free to post any measures u confirmed other registrars are making to make easier these virus times for their clients..

this is email quote I got today from whois registrar... nice stuff.. and thanks! sadly, not many people use them including me.. wish gd, dyna, or some others did something special too for these special hard times for all.

quote:

Important: Restore fee waived for .COM and .NET domain names
Dear Customer,

We hope you and your loved ones are safe and doing well in these unprecedented times.

We have been closely following the developments of the COVID-19 pandemic which has been affecting businesses and individuals alike. We realise the importance of business continuity and know that domain names form a crucial part of your business.

In an effort to assist our customers, Whois.com will not charge a restore fee for .COM and .NET domain names from 24th April 2020 until 31st May 2020. During this period, .COM and .NET domain names can be restored at the same cost as renewal. This change will help our customers get some more time to renew your names.

Please note that the life-cycle of domain names will not be changed; domain names will not resolve after expiration and will be deleted after the 36-day grace period. There is a 30-day redemption grace period post this where users will have to explicitly initiate the restore transaction if their domain name is not renewed in the 36 day period, but can now do so at a significantly reduced cost.

If you have any questions regarding this email, please contact us at [email protected].

Regards,
Team Whois

Hi there,

We've waived redemption/restore fees at Epik immediately after we got the message from Verisign. Some other registrars decided not to pass this to clients, while some others decided to pass it only for certain short period. We at Epik passed it fully to our customers, starting April 1st, till May 31st.

Check this out:
Stay safe!
