Anyone have an answer?

No restriction of countries. Though you need to use Non-UK registration as your legal type of registration contact. I think you can register for 2 years maximum as of this date. You may want to check with Nominet UK at http://www.nic.uk

Hope this help, let me know if you have any question. By the way, I also post this question to answer.net for other newbie. I hope you don't mind.

Regards,
Emil

That's right, and UK names are get on a 2 years registration basis, then after you keep renewing them every two years.

You may also want to look at the transfer costs involved if you plan to sell,
http://www.nic.uk/registrants/maintain/transfer/

i've never sold a name (.co.uk) so i cannot comment on how much work/time is invloved.

Just something to be aware of.
