I am completly begginer in domains.
I have registered these 2 words co.uk domain names- bestlube.co.uk, appios.co.uk , appsforum, forgirl.co.uk two days ago.

Could somebody give me some tips. I am wondering what is the best way to sell them. i am running an basic auction on flippa where i am trying to sell them together but it doesnt seem i will have succes without promotion. I think my domains are good names for uk based businesses or affiliate sites. But as i said iam completly newbie and i even dont know if they have selling potential.
Free domain valuator appraised them about 1000 usd .what do you think guys ?

I would not register any more names until you have read through this forum for a few moths to get an idea of what sells. The biggest mistake new domainers make is to start registering names before knowing what makes a domain valuable. I would also avoid hand-registering names and try and buy names from existing owners. There is usually an obvious reason the name is available?

Also have a look ta namebio.com and dnjournal.com to see recent sales

Hope that helps...good luck

Forget free valuators and certain websites. At the end the final buyers pays what it's worth.

Check DNjournal.com and Nambio for sales reports. I also check sedo how much related domains there are and the bidding behaviour

Appsforum is ok but with .co.uk you limit yourself to 1 country. Forgirl should be forgirls to make it sound proper english. Bestlube, wel maybe Durex.

Keep reading to pick up tips and trends.

Sell domains through Namepros, Godaddy, Sedo, Flippa, Afternic etc.

For country related domains try to find some local websites for .co.uk. to promote. Domaining is not getting quick rich. It's an long term investment with profits and losts. Don't get discouraged but also don't just buy because it should be good for a potential buyer. Ask yourself who would buy it and why. Goodluck

I have noticed more and more websites ranking with .co .uk names up in the serp's lately competing with dot com's. If you live in the UK, great find local business and your own niche. Find some "Name.uk" instead.

You might try the central registrar: Nominet.uk to view the whois, be aware I tried to register there but with their disclaimer- that they protect even unregistered generic names- those that are registered already in the
first extension ".co .uk", they do this for the previous registrant. Not sure if there is a grace period. Keep an eye on it.

"As of summer 2014, new shorter .uk domain names are available for registration.
For more information on rights of registration for .uk domain names
please see http://www.nominet.uk/go/ukregistrations"

"The WHOIS information provided is indicative only and subject to definitive rules
for release of second level domains. It should also be noted that the right of
registration may vary over time depending on the expiry of domain names which
currently have rights
, and the registration of new domain names."
