i know google drops the pr and links when once domain is dropped, but what if a domain with pr7 having few .gov and .edu links drops and you register it, it definitely would not have a real pr by then but would it be able to get back its pr in next pr update becuase of its old high pr gov and edu links? in simple is it worth it to buy such domain?

PR from expired domains could drop but if they have solid backlinks
(and most of them remain) your pr is back within some weeks.

Hope it helps.

Good Luck My Friend.

Only if the PR is Real, almost all PR 7 dropping nowadays, specially the ones without going to auction, are Fakes.

About "Dropping Links" that is not exactly the case. When a domain drops, Google knows about it and stop showing/counting the back links to that domain as long as it is not registered again. Only that.

If you register it, by the next update you will see most backlinks again.

You can confirm that by using siteexplorer.search.yahoo.com and you will see several back links remain intact, regardless the domain is dropped/unregistered or not.

Exactly. Only if it's real.
