Acck, I really, really meant to rereg those 3 domains elsewhere, but I forgot about them until it was time to re-up. At $35 a shot, it cost me $105.

I will, at last get them transferred elsewhere, however, I have a question:

Does anyone have any luck talking them into lowering their prices? Matching their competitors, or something?

You may not know this and will probably kick yourself later: you can transfer
expired domain names to another registrar as long as it's completed within the
current registrar's grace period.

I don't have any personal experience with Register.com. But I can confidently
tell you that most if not all registrars will attempt to give a discount if they
know a domain name's about to be transferred out.

If you threaten to dispute the renewals you posted, they'll surely take those
domain names from you. And every registrar is within their rights to do so if
this happens.

The only way to know is to find out directly from them. Anyway, they have a
toll-free phone number, give them a ring.

Wow - is that what they charge :td: I just got a name in a drop that was registered there - what a nightmare dealing with them was ! - Do you know if they charge anything to transfer it to another register ?
