Hi,

I have some domains I registered this year, and just intend to hold them for a while, and renew some of them.
I received a $100 offer for CorporateUs.com, and intend to counteroffer of course.
I don´t want to throw a huge price, but I might prefer to keep it than selling it for $100....what would be a reasonable counteroffer?

Thanks!

I like the name. I would go for $5,000 personally and hold for long term if I didn't get it with this buyer.

Good luck.

It's in the post, Corporate/Us dot com
Oh sorry.
Well I see that only the .com is registered, so I don't think the combo is in much demand. Probably the OP bought it for a reason I can't fathom. The offer is low but offers don't come in every day. It depends on whether the OP has better plans for the name.

Ya, nice name. It's a niche where you've abundance of money. At least higher end of $xxx ?? Also, don't forget to estibot, valuate it once. :xf.wink::xf.grin::rolleyes::lookaround::-D

By the way CorporateUS is in "United States" is better to me than CorporateUs.

I see the name is parked at bodis. I have also parked my names at bodis and get a lot of fake offers. People love to submit offers then do not reply back, even they do not open then emails I send (I track emails).

Apparently you have listed this name at GD premium for $399 which is low imo. If I were to list this name with bin price I would probably try to list it at $1995.

Since the offer came to bodis lander, If I were you I would try to identify the buyer using given email address. My counteroffer would depend on buyer's identity. If he has given a company email address it's most likely a legitimate offer. so if buyer looks to be a corporate person I would counter offer with low 4 figure, like $2500 then if he try to negotiate come down slowly to $1500 but not less than that. Also if buyer looks to be legitimate I would have removed $399 GD premium listing.

if buyer looks to be a person without any web presence then most likely it's a fake offer Good luck to you.

(I tried to write what I would have done if the offer came to me, please don't take my opinion blindly, do what you think best to you.)

Unless there are additional considerations, like residual income from this domain, I'd counter with a lowball $299. You see, I don't perceive many potential end users for this particular name. This may be your only chance to unload it at a modest profit. I prefer selling and investing proceeds in something with much higher ROI potential. But that's me, others like to keep domains as pets for years, waiting to make a killing down the road, sometimes successfully ;)

First, I would suggest removing the name from this thread to avoid the buyer finding this when he/she does a Google search. Otherwise, the other members seem to have given you some solid advice to run with. Good luck!

Seriously do not trust the estibot value for a real world selling price.

Sorry about the dislike.

Seriously, would a domainer really trust and price their domain based on Estibot/Valuate/DI appraisals? What I use these sites for is to get an idea what range is suitable to price the domain with, not to use the appraisal as the final selling price. Please give me a break.

Thanks to all of you for your answers!

Yes, I was hesitant about writing with the domain name visible, but decided to do it and then remove it after I get some answers.

I didn't even estibot it....I don't really care about those values, since they might not consider potential, but rely too much on past sales, which can´t really guarantee anything.

I googled the buyer´s email, it was the first thing I did. It´s not from a company, but the email is related to hundreds of domain names, so I might be a lowballer. I think I will keep it for now, or maybe try to counteroffer with higher end $xxx.

Thanks!!!!

as you say yourself you quite like the domain name yourself enough to keep it for a while so the offer you have received is effectively competing against you and in that negotiation you win as you already own it and presumably don't need to sell the domain name so you need to ask yourself how much you like it and unless the potential buyer meets your expectation keep the name as its worth much more than that negotiation

corporateUS is full of billionaires with deep pockets

don't leave money on the table

If you had posted it as such detail then I would not have engaged you with such a statement.

You can take a break now ;)

@belmar313 Before countering you should understand that offers don't come very often, it might take years of renewals and there is no guarantee that you'll get another offer. + The domain isn't great, I don't see any potential buyers YOU COULD CONTACT. So you probably can't do outbound. I would counter $499 and accept the next counter (if there is any). Don't go for $xxxx.

I'd probably counter at $1500. This price-point is reasonable, especially for the industry this domain represents, and if they're a serious buyer they won't get turned off. If they do, they were likely another domainer.

$5000+ is a possible reward if they go for it, but also a big gamble for a new domainer who wants to see some cash flow.

CorporateUs.com (Us, not U.S.) is really not a bad name. I don't say that often, as 99% of the names I see here (most forums and markets, not just here) are absolutely unusable from a business standpoint, and will probably trade hands among investors indefinitely until eventually being deleted. A company can actually use this...

I'm with Lucid. If you want to sell, I'd still counter with $5000. For a serious corporate buyer, this is a cheap domain. At least they will negotiate.
